The Schladming Dachstein region offers every feature of the mountain landscape: high peaks, thundering waterfalls, beautiful lakes, gorges and glaciers.
The mountains are easily accessible with the summer lift systems - Dachstein, Planai, Hauser Kaibling, Hochwurzen, Reiteralm and Rittisberg.
Breathtaking views, peace and tranquillity, remote mountain huts offering traditional food - get out and enjoy the landscape!
Whatever your activity, there is plenty to keep you occupied in this region.
For walkers and hikers, there are trails for every age and ability. The Ramsau plateau is ideal for shorter hikes with gentle slopes, but for more challenging hikes the
possibilities are endless - both on the Dachstein and in the Schladminger Tauern.
Ramsau is a climber's paradise with 21 Klettersteig routes, from grade A-B for beginners and youngsters through to testing ascents on the Dachstein.
The region has lots to offer bike enthusiasts with bike-parks on the Planai and Reiteralm mountains and 26 tours for mountain and e-bikes. Bike rental and shuttle buses make
cycling accessible for everyone.
There are many local swimming pools and outdoor lakes to enjoy.
Rittisberg is a great for all the family - chair lift, gentle hikes, the "Beach", archery, segway tours, mini-golf, forest park, playground, trampolines, the roller-coaster. A
favourite family location in Ramsau.
There are plenty of opportunities for thrills and excitement in the Schladming Dachstein region.
Rittisberg has the “Ferrari” coaster – a summer toboggan ride on the lower slopes. Also at Rittisberg are Segway tours, and a descent down the mountain on a scooter.
If you have a head for heights, try the 2.5km lon Zipline at Stoderzinken. Or how about tandem paragliding from the Planai mountain?
Popular on Hochwurzen mountain are the go-karts - a 7km descent on the route that tobogans take in winter.
For families there's Hopsiland on Planai, the play area at the top of the Rittisberg chair lift and also the forest park at the foot of Rittisberg.
For watersports, there is white-water rafting on the Enns river, kayaking and canyoning.
Ramsau has many festival days throughout the summer - always featuring traditional music, food and drink!
In Ramsau there are 2 museums; the Zeitroas museum of tourism, alpinism, geology, rural handcraft and evangelism; and the alpine museum, which at 1638m, is Styria’s highest museum. You can also take a guided tour of Styrias’s oldest business, the Lodenwalke, which has been producing “loden”, a tough fabric made from wool, since 1434.
